Unfinished pieces
Need to continue next time? The piece has to stay moist. Clay that dries out can no longer be shaped or joined, and cracks when worked further.
How to store the piece
- Wrap it in plastic so no air gets to it, and tape it.
- Write your customer number (you will find it in your profile) and the date on the plastic.
- Put it on the shelf for unfinished pieces, not among the finished ones. Finished pieces go into the kiln.
- Book your next visit right away. Clay lasts only a few days under plastic. Thrown pieces need trimming at the right firmness, so come back as soon as you can.
If the piece dries out
We email you asking whether to fire or recycle it. If you choose firing, we fire the piece as it is and you glaze it after the first firing within the stated deadline, like any other piece. If you do not reply, we recycle the piece.
